"Virxe do Carme" (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) Festival

As a fishing town, Marín celebrates the “Virxe do Carme” (Our Lady of Mount Carmel) in large numbers. The festivities begin with parades and concerts, craft exhibitions and children’s shows, but it peaks with the masses and the torchlight process, the traditional floral offering and the maritime-land procession featuring the statue of the Virgin that culminates in a fireworks display. A deeply emotional festivity throughout Galicia and, especially, in our municipal district that should be experienced firsthand.
