Natura plus ultra
Beyond the urban Marín there are small oases worth discovering. One of them is Lagocheiras Park, where the trunks of its trees come to life by the hand of the artist José Fervenza “Yosi,” with carvings of large horses. The place is ideal for a picnic after a walk. Very close by is Castiñeiras Lake, featuring one of the oldest forests in Galicia, and the Mámoa do Rei burial mound, a large-scale archaeological site belonging to the Chan de Castiñeiras ensemble, dating from 3,000 BC, which is reminiscent of Ribeira’s famous Axeitos Dolmen.

An example of this is Fervenza de Neibó, a small waterfall fed by a stream that makes for a beautiful picture for those who find it within the leafy grove of Santo Tomé de Piñeiro. However, if there is one thing that stands out in Marín, it is a series of viewpoints featuring impressive views of the estuary where you can breathe in the Pontevedra breeze, such as those of A Pastoriza, Cruceiro do Vento, O Castelo, A Moreira and Cotorredondo, among others, which are included in our routes.
