FIESTAS AND TRADITIONS

"Festa Corsaria" (Pirate Festival)

Festa Corsaria

Marín goes back in time with this great event, remembering the famous battle that took place on Aguete Beach in the eighteenth century against the English. Juan Gago de Mendoza, one of the most feared Galician corsairs, fought to defend our town and prevent the British conquest. The “Festa Corsaria” recreates what the town was like at that time, in an atmosphere of pirates featuring a playful, musical, gastronomic and historical program for the whole family. The boat parade, invasion and fireworks are the most relevant activities.
