Walks by the sea
If you want to enjoy a relaxed, unhurried day, but full of charming spots dotted by the sea, we suggest this route in which you will discover unique places without haste.
Itinerary
1. Beaches of O Santo and A Coviña
If you are one of those people who enjoy sheltered, charming and uncrowded beaches, we suggest you split the morning between two sandy areas a few metres apart, but very different from each other.

Start your day in A Coviña, a small cove of white sand about 75 metres long that you can reach from the road or from the beach of O Santo itself. Here you can immerse yourself in the typical tranquillity of the hidden coves of the Rías Baixas in an incomparable natural setting sheltered by rocks and trees. From there, move on to O Santo Beach, a haven of peace featuring fine white sand that combines its landscape with boulders of about 300 metres. Unlike its neighbour (A Coviña), this sandy area has a rectilinear shape and boasts all the amenities of a blue flag beach. Its calm waters and relaxed atmosphere make it a perfect beach for swimming or anchoring boats.

2. Islote do Santo do Mar (islet)
From O Santo Beach, depending on the tides, you can visit on foot the well-known Islote do Santo do Mar or Islote de San Clemente along a large tongue of sand that joins it with the beach. In case the tide goes out early in the morning, our recommendation is that you start your route here.

On this charming islet that is 14 metres high and covers an area of 1.63 ha, you will find a small beach linked to the sandy isthmus and an area of vegetation and stones, featuring the remains of a curious hermitage dating from the eighteenth century and facing east, opposite to most of the Christian constructions we know today.

3-4. Port of Marín - Alcalde Blanco Promenade
In the afternoon, to end the day, we recommend a relaxed walk to contemplate the immensity of the estuary from the Alcalde Blanco Promande, Marín’s seafront walk, until you reach its majestic port, a place full of history and tradition, the economic heart of the town.

This boardwalk has been completely refurbished. There you will find restaurant areas where you can have a drink or dinner, a playground with an aquatic area that will delight your kids (and the rest of the family) and impressive views of the Atlantic, where you can enjoy the sunset.
