3 things you can only do in Marín

If you are looking for a different destination in the Rías Baixas, with unique experiences that you will not find anywhere else, Marín will surprise you. Here there are not only beaches and good seafood: there are also plans that combine nature, culture and outdoor life in a very special way. We tell you three things that you can only do in Marín, perfect for your summer holidays in Galicia.

1. Walk to the Islet of San Clemente

Yes, that’s right. In Marín you can walk to an islet. This is the Island of San Clemente (also known as Isla do Santo), a small islet located in front of the beach of O Santo. When the tide goes out, a sandy isthmus is formed that allows you to cross on foot to the island.

In addition, this beach is one of the most special in the municipality. It features a swing overlooking the sea and is a quiet and uncrowded sandy area. Without a doubt, one of the best kept secrets of tourism in Marín.

2. Play instruments outdoors in the Park of the Senses

Very close to the city centre, Finca de Briz (or Park of the Senses) is a park full of charm. This green space features garden areas, paths, benches and a very special corner: a space with giant outdoor musical instruments .

It is a music park designed so that both children and adults can experiment with sound in a free and fun way. Xylophones, drums or wind tubes integrated into nature.

3. Enjoy an approved barbecue site at Lake Castiñeiras

Right beside Lake Castiñeiras, one of the most beautiful natural spaces in the area, is one of the few approved public barbecue sites in Galicia, which can be used all year round.

Surrounded by trees, with stone tables and hiking trails, the lake is ideal for spending the day with family or friends. You can bring your own food and prepare a barbecue in the middle of nature, something that in most recreational areas of Galicia is not allowed outside the summer.

These are just three of the many things that make Marín a special place within the Rías Baixas. Do you feel like discovering it?
